About

BIO

L. M. May lives with her family in New Mexico amongst the roadrunners and coyotes.  Over the years she’s done all kinds of things–everything from cafeteria worker to software tester to laboratory assistant to PTA treasurer.  She enjoys writing speculative fiction for adults, teens, and children (sometimes the speculative aspect is subtle, sometimes it’s blatant).  She started writing back in 2002 as a way to relax during rough times, got hooked on it, slowly got over her fears about other people reading her work, and in late 2009 began submitting  her work on a regular basis to editors.

She’s read too many books on writing, taken a lot of writing classes, and gone to several national-level workshops and conferences.

Her debut as a fiction writer occurred in the March 2011 issue of Albuquerque the Magazine.  Even on bad days, the act of writing still has the power to give her joy.
